Xeomin in Long Island, NY
Xeomin® is an injectable treatment that contains botulinum toxin to temporarily paralyze muscles that cause lines around the eyes and on the forehead. For patients in Long Island, Queens and surrounding communities in New York, Eunice E. Park, MD, is a dual board-certified facial plastic surgeon and ear, nose, and throat (otolaryngology) specialist who offers Xeomin® treatments.
What is Xeomin®?
Xeomin® contains the same active ingredient as Botox® and Dysport®, but some patients may achieve better results with Xeomin®. The injections contain a special neurotoxin that is used to target and temporarily paralyze facial muscles in the upper third of the face. Contractions of these muscles create horizontal lines on the forehead, vertical lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet.
Benefits of Xeomin®
You may prefer Xeomin® if you want:
- No downtime
- Treatment to take less than one hour
- Maintenance treatments that take less than 30 minutes
- No incisions or scars
- Results that may last three to six months
Am I a Candidate for Xeomin®?
You may be a good candidate for Xeomin® if you are in good health and have cosmetic concerns that can be treated with the product. The most common areas that are treated with Xeomin® are the forehead area, between the eyebrows and at the corners of the eyes. If you have a history of allergies to any of the ingredients, Dr. Park will recommend an alternative anti-aging treatment.
What to Expect from Xeomin®
Several injections are made into the muscles that control facial movements where you have lines and wrinkles. Dr. Park uses a fine needle to administer the product. You may feel a slight pinch as the needle is inserted.
After the treatment, you may notice some pinpoint bleeding at the injection sites as well as localized tenderness, swelling and bruising. These symptoms may last up to three days. You should not rub or massage the area as this may cause Xeomin® to spread into surrounding tissues. Full results may take up to seven days and last up to six months.
