What is Dysport®?
Dysport® contains botulinum toxin, the same active ingredient that is found in Botox®. Dysport® is recommended for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles that may occur on the forehead, between the eyebrows and at the corners of the eyes. Even though Dysport® contains the same active ingredient as Botox®, it does have some differences. Dysport® may be a less expensive anti-aging treatment compared to Botox®, but it may not last as long. Clinical studies show that both Dysport® and Botox® last four to six months, but many patients may need more frequent maintenance treatments with Dysport®. Compared to Botox®, Dysport® may produce full results in a slightly quicker time than Botox® (two to five days for Dysport® and four to seven days for Botox®). Dysport® has smaller molecules of botulinum toxin, so the product may spread to surrounding tissues, and this may be an advantage for some patients.

What to Expect from Dysport®

You may have pinpoint bleeding and localized tenderness, bruising and swelling for the first few days after each treatment.
