Botox in Long Island, NY
Not all wrinkles are created equal, so you need treatments that address the specific cause of each type of wrinkle. Botox® is designed to help with dynamic wrinkles that develop on your forehead. For patients in Long Island, Queens and surrounding communities in New York, Eunice E. Park, MD, who is dual board-certified in plastic surgery and ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology), offers Botox® treatments.
What is Botox®?
Botox® is designed to target dynamic wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. Dynamic wrinkles develop when muscle contractions pinch the skin. The aging process weakens the skin, so it is less able to resist the force of the contractions. Botox® temporarily paralyzes the muscles to help soften the lines and wrinkles.

What to Expect from Botox®
If you decide to have Botox® treatments, you will need an initial treatment with the product. Multiple injections are made into the muscles that cause your lines and wrinkles. The needle that is used for the injections is very small, so you may feel a slight prick and pressure as Botox® is administered.
After the injections, you may have pinpoint bleeding where the needle was inserted into the skin. The injection sites may also feel tender, and you may have bruising and swelling. These symptoms may last up to three days.
After five to seven days, you may notice a softening of the lines and wrinkles that indicates that Botox® is working to temporarily paralyze the muscles. Follow-up treatments may be recommended every four to six months to maintain the results.
